Today’s
economy has brought many inquiries about the safety of money in
financial institutions. We would like all of our members to be aware
that each membership is insured to at least $100,000.00, and Individual
Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are insured up to $250,000.00 by the National
Credit Union Administration, or NCUA.
The NCUA is the federal agency that charters and supervises federal
credit unions and insures savings in federal and most state-chartered
credit unions across the country through the National Credit Union Share
Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a federal fund backed by the full faith and
credit of the United States government. If you would like more
information about NCUA, you can visit their website at
www.ncua.gov and
click on “Share Insurance” at the top of the page.
